Taylor has lovingly styled friends and family for many years alongside her career as a Teaching Artist and Education Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA. With the arrival of 2020 and the upheaval to her field, she pivoted and put her fashion skills to good use as a professional virtual stylist with a styling company. She has a wealth of knowledge to share about how to find your own personal style!

Sarah is the brain behind our inventory systems and business operations. Her fashion background involved working as a virtual stylist for two years alongside her nonprofit day job. She also spent time working retail for popular clothing brands in college. There, she discovered an uncanny love of folding giant piles of t-shirts and sorting disheveled clearance racks.

Taylor’s Style Story.

My journey to this work started all the way at the beginning of my life with someone who made a huge impact: my grandma Marge. She was a brilliant woman who fought breast cancer 9 times over almost 4 decades. She’d always say, "when you feel bad, look your best!"

Grandma lived this philosophy every day, down to the beautiful yet comfy house coats she wore during the last days of her life, and it was a big part of forming my style experience.

A few years ago, the depression I've been working with since my early teens ramped up in a big, scary way. Styling myself became one way to scaffold out of the damaging thought patterns tearing me down. Clothes were always a joyful form of self expression for me, so when I couldn’t say "I love myself" I could say "I love this dress I chose.” Not feeling good in my body but loving the feeling of the clothes I put on it was impactful.

Working for a major styling company has proven that I love to do this work...and that I want to do it in a very different way than how the "fast fashion" culture encourages.

This brings us to the beginning of 2021, which finds me partnering with my dear friend, Sarah, and starting Style for Good!

I have been a size 0 to a size 20, a goth punk to a business casual boss, and I am so excited to help you find your perfect style!

Sarah’s Style Story.

Thrifting has become increasingly popular in recent years (woo!), but it felt like a sacred secret amongst my close friends in high school. Trips to Goodwill and Salvation Army were how we partied on the weekends.

I loved finding unique pieces at affordable prices, but I also had a profound respect for the lives those items lived before their journey ended in a Central PA thrift store.

I connected with Taylor when we both landed in Pittsburgh after college. We hosted small clothing swaps in her living room with friends that soon grew into city-wide events.

Finding community and sharing resources, like preloved clothes or emotional support, was a powerful experience that I knew I wanted to carry forward in life.

When my anxiety is spiraling or my depression is too heavy, I turn to those positive memories and try to pay the love forward (to myself and others).

Our goal at Style for Good is to recreate that joyful feeling for more people by making fashion more inclusive and sustainable.

Follow our journey.
